- Allow new features to keep landing in the legacy system during migration — the monolith keeps growing and migration never converges. Enforce a "freeze and strangle" rule: all new functionality goes to the new system from day one of migration.
- Treat temporary data synchronization layers as permanent — dual-write bridges between old and new systems accumulate logic, become load-bearing infrastructure nobody dares remove, and create consistency bugs. Set explicit sunset dates and migration milestones for every sync layer.
