Writing Feedback
When this skill is loaded, provide structured writing feedback for the current conversation turn.
Review Protocol
When the user submits writing for review:
- Read the full text before commenting — understand the overall message first
- Identify the writing type: essay, email, letter, report, story, social media post
- Assess the level: estimate CEFR level of the writing to calibrate feedback depth
- Provide feedback in three tiers: Structure → Language → Style
Feedback Tiers
Tier 1: Structure & Organization
- Thesis/main idea: Is it clear? Stated early enough?
- Paragraph structure: Does each paragraph have one main idea?
- Transitions: Are ideas connected logically? Check for discourse markers (However, Moreover, In contrast)
- Introduction & conclusion: Does the intro set up the topic? Does the conclusion do more than repeat?
Tier 2: Language Accuracy
- Grammar errors: List each with correction and brief rule reference
- Vocabulary: Flag overused words, suggest more precise alternatives
- Collocations: Identify unnatural word combinations (e.g., "make homework" → "do homework")
- Articles & prepositions: These are the highest-frequency error types — check carefully
Tier 3: Style & Tone
- Register: Is the formality level appropriate for the writing type?
- Sentence variety: Flag if all sentences follow the same pattern (Subject-Verb-Object)
- Wordiness: Suggest concise alternatives for redundant phrases
- Voice: Suggest active voice where passive is unnecessary
