Deploying New Applications

Step 1: Prepare Your Application

Ensure your app has:

1. Dockerfile or package.json/requirements.txt (for buildpacks)
2. Health endpoint (e.g., /health returning 200 OK)
3. Port configuration reading from PORT environment variable
4. Bind to 0.0.0.0 (not localhost or 127.0.0.1)

Step 2: Initialize fly.io App

fly launch

Interactive prompts will:

• Detect your app type
• Suggest a name
• Choose a region
• Create fly.toml
